As some of you may know, things do not always go as planned. Music is something that Mike and I have always been extremely passionate about which made it really easy to get into the concert photography, interviews, album and show reviews. However, when you’re also working a regular job, and dealing with major things within your personal lives sometimes things do get put on the back burner, and ultimately forgotten about or neglected due to the more important stuff consuming most of your waking hours and sometimes even keeping you from getting the rest your body and mind so desperately long for at times. While we never intended for this to happen, it did.
As the dust settles from the massive uproar our lives were suddenly caught up in, we find ourselves ready to come back with a refreshed and renewed perspective. We are very excited to announce that we are lucky enough to have been selected to review the much anticipated upcoming album from Pierce The Veil, Misadventures which is set to release worldwide on May 13, 2016 via Fearless Records. While there have been some delays regarding the release of this album, it is important to remember the old adage, “Good things come to those who wait.”
Mike and I have been fans of PTV since 2007, and it has been awesome to watch them grow and rise to the amazing place they have made it to currently. When we saw Pierce The Veil perform with Cinematic Sunrise (side project of Chiodos singer Craig Owens), My American Heart, and Daphne Loves Derby on May 15, 2008 at this tiny venue with virtually no stage, terrible lights and sound (Mojoe’s Coffee House in Tinley Park, IL). Back then PTV were the low men on the totem poll, but we knew these guys were destined for something big as they stole the show without a doubt and left a long lasting impression. They have grown so much that they have sold out multiple recent tours they have been a part of, and have successfully made it to the top of the Billboard Charts more than once, along with amassing a slew of awards to further solidify the fact that they are force to be reckoned with.
Pierce The Veil have released 2 songs thus far from their upcoming release Misadventures, “The Divine Zero” and “Texas Is Forever” are available to check out if you haven’t already. Starting today Misadventures pre-order bundles are now available via piercetheveil.net. One thing is certain, the new album has been curated with great care to bring true feeling and meaning as the band has delved into a variety of topics such as “self-worth and an individual’s ability to shine, the dream of leaving everything behind while you run away with the one you truly love, the challenge of outrunning betrayal, an undefined relationship, and the horror of the 2015 Paris attacks told from a hypothesized point of view.” The only thing we are left wondering is when will the tour announcement be made. If you have ever seen Pierce The Veil live, you already know how amazing their performances are, and understand why they are selling out shows. If you haven’t had the chance to check the band out live, you absolutely should. Pierce The Veil does not disappoint.
While we can certainly expect great things for Pierce The Veil, our own paths are still unclear within this industry. But you can rest assured that we will still closely follow and do our best to document the music that we love. We may not have the ability to cover as many bands or shows as much as we were able to before, but regardless of that we will still strive to document everything we are a part of with the utmost attention to detail so that a real account of things has been made for those who could not be there personally. Even though we may not know where things will ultimately go for us, we do feel the future is bright and promising, and we hope you will continue to share a common bond with us that can at times unite people from all walks of life who have never met before – the love of music.
In the meantime, feel free to check out our Pierce The Veil photo galleries from previous concerts.
