Praise for Always Ascending

Always Ascending -Franz’s fifth album-plays out like proof that the band is also having a great time. It’s up there with their best efforts…This record’s a reflection in a disco ball, just…an upgraded, shinier disco ball.” – GQ

“It’s a return to form that the band never really lost… the wit’s sharper than ever.” – Rolling Stone

“…the percolating title-track lead cut is their most glittering disco confection of the decade.” – Billboard

“With five Grammy nominations, a Mercury Prize, and millions of albums sold, it might seem hard to keep an upward trajectory, but here the band continues to wade into uncomfortable waters and relish what they discover in those depths…The band doesn’t forget their storied past when pushing forward. It’s generous music that doesn’t leave their fans behind.” – Uproxx

Always Ascending is definitely an early contender for best of 2018 lists.” – Under the Radar

“The Scottish new new-wavers evolve one more time.” – Newsday
