REVIEW: Forevermore “Artifice” (Single)

Artist: Forevermore

Album: Sojourner

Genre: Metalcore

Label: Unsigned

Indianapolis based, Christian metal-core band, Forevermore recently released the single Artifice, off of their highly anticipated second album, Sojourner. Having just been released about twelve hours ago, Artifice has been receiving a great response. Some fans have stated that it bears similarity to Texas In July however, plenty of fans would beg to differ. Rather than continually saying this band sounds like that band, Forevermore is truly creating a style that is all their own.

Despite how aggressive Artifice may sound, this song seems to be about the struggle that we all go through at some point in our lives while trying to determine our purpose on this Earth, and that God will still love you. The new album thus far resembles a more progressive style of metal similar to Periphery, whereas their previous release resembled August Burns Red more. The precise amount of time Forevermore has been a band for is unknown, but rest assured they have been around long enough.

Sojourner is set to drop on 10/27/12, be sure to pick it up. As a whole, anticipate a much heavier album this time around. Psalm 86:12: I will praise you, Lord my God, with my whole heart.
