Los Angeles, CA – January 7, 2013 – A Silent Film have announced the first dates of their 2013 U.S. tour, hitting the road for 25+ confirmed live shows coast-to-coast. Gold Fields has been confirmed to co-headline beginning in February. A complete list of shows is listed below, additional dates will be announced. A Silent Film had recently been performing throughout the holidays at radio festival shows this winter, and previously wrapped tours with OneRepublic, Civil Twilight, Smashing Pumpkins, Temper Trap, Sleigh Bells and Blue October. Currently, the bandis supporting their latest full-length album release Sand & Snow (Creative Media Investments/CMI), available online and in stores everywhere. RollingStone.com recently premiered the video for their new single “Harbour Lights” calling it an “enchanting sing-along track.” Also online, watch the video for the band’s debut single Danny, Dakota & the Wishing Well.
Formed in Oxford, UK, and recently relocating to the U.S., A Silent Film’s expansive and poetic pop-rock sound has garnered comparisons to everyone from Coldplay to The Killers to U2. The bands’ new album Sand & Snow is just a snapshot of the fevered creativity inspired by an impulsive tryst with Americana. The band self-produced the album in their new Arizona home-rehearsal studio and Sonic Ranch studios in El Paso, Texas (recently home to Animal Collective, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Beach House). Mix engineer Alan Moulder – best known for his work with The Killers, Death Cab For Cutie, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Foo Fighters – tied the album together with a mix that favors theatrical dynamics and scene-setting ambience. Collectively, they created an unyielding positivity in Sand & Snow, a spirited and romantic musicality that belies an unashamedly upbeat pop attitude.
