Outerloop Taps Industry Veteran Shan Dan Horan to Head Label Operations
Outerloop president Mike Mowery states,”I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Shan Dan for a number of years and I am thrilled to announce that he is the new head of Outerloop Records. I’ve always admired the work he has done throughout his career and I expect his entrepreneurial spirit and his penchant for helping artists will have a huge impact. We are eager to expand not only in our ability to help developing artists, but also in our efforts of signing more established ones as well. Shan’s experience in these areas combined with his propensity to embrace the changes within the industry and utilize new technological tools as they become available, make him a natural fit to bring the label into 2018 and beyond. ”
Shan Dan comments, “Over the past decade I’ve become an expert in developing new talent, so I was ecstatic when Outerloop approached me. Mike Mowery and Outerloop have always had the same vision (and passion) as myself and understand how important it is to help up and coming talent reach their full potential. I’m excited to work with such a great team/roster and feel honored to take the reins. Fans can look forward to a very active 2018 release year.”

About Outerloop
Outerloop consists of several hardworking initiatives under one umbrella, including Outerloop Management, Outerloop Records, and Outerloop Coaching.
Outerloop Records, whose roster includes Lorna Shore, Youth in Revolt, Megosh, Night Argent, Vanish, Lakeshore, A Wake In Providence, Phantoms and Moonfall, was launched in 2013 by Outerloop Management founder Mike Mowery as a solution for developing artists to take advantage of their recorded rights. Having been in the business for more than a decade, Mowery and Outerloop Management have successfully developed artists such as We Came As Romans, Ice Nine Kills, Periphery, Set It Off, and more, and served great artists like Refused, Carnifex, and Darkest Hour. Outerloop Records has already proven success in the past by releasing Ice Nine Kills’ third album (and first release of the label), ‘The Predator Becomes the Prey’, which debuted on Billboard’s 200, Heatseekers and Hard Rock charts.
Now in partnership with Cooking Vinyl, Outerloop Records is taking the music industry by the horns with an unrivaled fire to discover and develop artists. This year, the team continued to prove successful on the Billboard Charts, with Lorna Shore’s ‘Flesh Coffin’ debuting at #2 Current Rock and Top New Artist, #5 Overall Hard Rock, and #62 Top Current Album. Lakeshore’s ’41’ debuting at #3 on the Alternative New Artist Albums Chart, #13 Top New Artist, #14 Current Hard Music, Moonfall’s “Empty Cage’ debuting at #32 on the Top New Artists Chart, Youth in Revolt’s ‘The Broken’ debuting at #51 Top New Artist, and Night Argent’s ‘The Fear’ breaking in at #82 Top New Artist.
Looking forward, Outerloop Group hopes to deliver a diverse roster encompassing all genres and extending their expertise to individuals who wish to thrive in the music industry.
